Kohler Waters Spa Opens
In Lincoln Park

If you live in the Midwest, the word “Kohler” does not just conjure images of plumbing, but design, luxury, spa, and five-star service.
With the opening of the new Kohler Waters Spa in October 2019, all of those words have come together in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood, only 150 miles south of Kohler’s namesake town in Wisconsin, where it’s been an American manufacturing success story since the late 1800s. The two-story sanctuary comes with 21 treatment rooms for massages, facials, and hydrotherapy and a vast array of oh-so-rejuvenating treatments, therapies, and massages.
You could spend a few hours in the “Thermal Suite,” alone. Shared by men and women, it features a hydrotherapy pool with massage jets, a cold plunge pool, a steam room, and a sauna. And don’t forget the hair and nail salon, makeup services, and shop, which sells spa and beauty products.
“Guests are loving the high luxury feel, and the spa design is providing guests with an immersive resort experience right in the city,” says Nicole Miller, director of Kohler Waters Spas.
Indeed, this latest spa — the fifth in the Kohler family — offers a respite from the non-stop urban noise and traffic just outside its front door. Spa-goers can immerse themselves in services such as the Stressless CBD-infused massage, a pollutant-targeting City Life Massage, a deeply relaxing Digital Detox Body Wrap, and a calming Healing Waters Treatment with the custom-designed Kohler Vichy shower.
The salon offers technological twists on classic services, too, like the Virtual Reality Pedicure, which includes guided virtual reality meditations, and The Sound of Color manicure, in which the color of your vegan nail polish is also paired with a guided meditation.
Before and after treatments, spa-goers can sip a cup of tea and laze in chaises in the roomy, natural-light filled relaxation area, and even luxuriate on the open air, second-floor terrace when the weather allows.
Throughout the experience, visitors can admire the many items created by Kohler: bathroom tiles, high-tech showers (you can set it to the exact temperature you want using a small panel — no guessing), sinks, lighting, and more.
Miller says this latest Chicago spa is the perfect fit for Lincoln Park, where it’s within walking distance of hundreds of restaurants, shops, bars, theaters, and more:

“Chicago is a world-class city rich in history and culture with a strong sense of authenticity. Kohler Waters Spa Lincoln Park is pleased to be part of Lincoln Common, a vibrant new anchor of the neighborhood which is comprised of new buildings and restored structures that integrate well into the fabric of the community.”
As a business that’s built its name around water, it’s only fitting that Kohler has a reputation for magnificent spas. “Kohler has been in the water experiential business for over 150 years,” says Miller. It’s in its DNA.
